The contract runs from August 2016 until December 2025 and covers six routes:

  • Umeå – Sundsvall
  • Storlien – Sundsvall
  • Vännäs – Umeå
  • Lycksele – Umeå
  • Luleå – Umeå, and
  • Kiruna – Luleå.

These services are currently operated by Botniatåg, a joint venture between German Rail (DB) subsidiary Arriva (60%) and Swedish national train operator SJ (40%).

The new contract includes maintenance of the train fleet and Tågkompaniet has selected EuroMaint as its maintenance partner.
