“All three stations on this section have been rated as ‘platinum’ for their adherence to green building norms,” Dr Mangu Singh, managing director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, said at the opening ceremony. DMRC has installed solar power plants on two elevated stations on the line.

The line is equipped with Bombardier’s CityFlo 650 communications-based train control (CBTC) system which permits driverless operation. This is second line in Delhi to be fitted with CityFlo 650 following its installation on the 58.5km Pink Line 7.

“With the opening of this section, the Delhi Metro network has now become 377km long with 274 stations (including the Noida - Greater Noida Metro Corridor),” Singh said.

The remaining 1.2km section of the Grey Line from Najafgarh to Dhansa Bus Stand is due to open in December 2020.
