The 12km line from Tham Luong to Ben Thanh will include 10.3km of bored and cut-and-cover tunnel and 1.7km of viaduct, with nine underground stations and one elevated station.

Services will be operated by a fleet of 10 three-car trains, which will be maintained at a new depot at Tham Luong.
