The extension, which opened on October 10, includes three new stations - Yakacık (Adnan Kahveci), Pendik and Tavşantepe in Kaynarca - all of which are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility.
The initial 21.8km section of Line M4 from Kadiköy to Kartal opened in August 2012 and construction is underway on a further 7.4km extension from Tavşantepe to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, which is due to be completed in 2018.
The journey time from Kadiköy to Tavşantepe is 38 minutes.
