Segurisa has been awarded a four-year, €31.3m contract for surveillance and security services at 13 depots across the network, replacing Ombuds which is currently facing bankruptcy proceedings. Madrid Metro also awarded a €4.3m contract for the comprehensive maintenance of the network’s CCTV system, which currently has more than 8600 cameras.

A three-year, €2.95m framework agreement has been signed for the installation and modernisation of station security systems, which control a number of functions including the automatic start-up of escalators, the public address system and the centralised remote control of stations.

A €3.3m contract has also been awarded for the repair and maintenance of the 1000 escalators previously managed by Metro Madrid, along with a €2.55m contract to supply 1520 tyres for series 9000 trains over the next two years.
