Line 15, which is also known as the Nekrasovskaya Line, runs from Nekrasovka to Kosino where it will interchange with Line 7 and Russian Railways (RZD) commuter services. The line will eventually run north from Kosino via Nizhegorodskaya where it will connect with RDZ’s Line 14 ring railway, and Aviamotornay on Line 8 to Elektrozavodskaya on Line 3.

Only new-generation “Moscow” trains are operating on Line 15. These trains have wide inter-city gangways so that passengers can move easily along the entire length of the train, air-conditioning, and interactive route-planning panels.

Trains are currently operating at 6-minute intervals. However, headways will be reduced when the line is extended to Nizhegorodskaya.

Moscow Metro says the opening of the first section of Line 15 will lead to a temporary increase in passenger traffic in the southeastern section of Line 7, the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line. However, when Line 15 is extended north to the interchange with Line 14, pressure on Line 7 will be relieved.
