MOSCOW Metro has signed a contract with Russian-based company Logos to supply 11 simulators, which will be used to train drivers on the Moscow and Moscow 2020 trains.

The simulators will feature a complete replica of the train cab including all screens and equipment, and will display simulations of Moscow Metro routes including stations, gradients and curves.

There is a separate station for the instructor where they can monitor training and instigate emergency scenarios.

“We pay special attention to the training of drivers,” says Mr Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor of Moscow and head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.

With the new Russian-made simulators, “drivers will be able to improve their level of professionalism, hone their skills and more accurately adhere to the schedule,” he says.
