The order is an option from a €90m order for 10 standard-gauge trains awarded in November 2017, which was subsequently increased to 12 sets.

Each 32.97m-long six-car train will accommodate 208 passengers (at 4p/m2) with passenger features including air-conditioning, CCTV, Wi-FI and LED information screens.

ANM CEO Mr Nicola Pascale told local media this week that the first train from the initial batch will be delivered by January 2020.
