The 2.6km extension will branch off the existing Line U2/U4 alignment at Horner Rennbahn station in the east of the city with new stations at Stoltenstrasse and Dannerallee serving a catchment of around 13,000 inhabitants.
Subject to planning approval, construction is expected to begin at the end of 2019 with the €465m project due for completion in the mid-2020s.
