Line 11 has become the city's longest metro line, with the opening of a two-station 4.1km southwestern extension from Luoshan Road to Kangxin Highway taking the total length of the line to 76km. A further extension to Shanghai DIsney Resort is due to open next year.
Line 12 has almost doubled in length with the opening of the 21km extension from Qufu Road to Qixin Road. The 16-station extension includes nine interchanges with other metro lines, giving Line 11 more interchanges than any other line on the network. Bombardier and its Chinese joint venture Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicles Company has supplied 41 six-car Movia metro trains to Shanghai Shentong Metro Group for Line 12.
Line 13 has been extended 9.8km east from its southern terminus at Changshou Road to Shibo Avenue with nine new stations.
Shanghai Shentong Metro says it plans to open another four new lines and five extensions to existing lines by 2020.
