Construction of the station will start in January 2021 and is due to be completed in 2023.

The contract includes:

  • construction and fitting out of the station, including two station entrances
  • lifts and escalators to the new underground platforms
  • retail space next to the Clarke Street station entrance, and future retail opportunities along the Pacific Highway
  • public domain works including footpaths, street tree planting, lighting and street furniture
  • bike parking
  • kiss-and-ride and taxi bays, and
  • installation of wayfinding and Sydney Metro information signage.

A delivery partner for future development above the station will be selected via a separate tender process.

The two tenders have been separated to enable the station tender to proceed while the New South Wales Government considers community feedback regarding the developments above the station.

The $A 8.3bn 36km Sydney Metro Northwest line between Tallawong and Chatswood became Australia’s first metro line when it opened on May 26 2019. The 30km City and Southwest project will extend the line beneath Sydney Harbour, through new underground city stations and beyond to the south west, and is expected to cost around $A 15.5bn when it opens in 2024.
