SOCIÉTÉ du Grand Paris (SGP), the company leading the Grand Paris Express project, has awarded Barcelona Metropolitan Transport (TMB) and Systra a contract to assess and propose solutions for the operation and maintenance of future ring lines around the Paris region.

TMB will provide technical assistance to prepare the operation and maintenance of lines 15, 16, 17 and 18 of the Paris metro.

TMB representatives attended their first meetings in Paris with Systra and SGP on April 20 and 21, and also visited construction sites of an infrastructure maintenance centre and a station for the future metro network.

A technical assistance consortium is providing SGP support for preparing, transferring, testing and commissioning the metro ahead of the start of operation to ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the objectives set by the relevant authorities.

The work includes anticipating issues that may prevent the smooth running of the lines, with a focus on identifying risks and proposing solutions that maintain the overall coherence of the project in terms of operation and maintenance.

SGP will transfer the infrastructure and systems to the future operator and infrastructure manager, a process which TMB will also advise on.
