Line 2 begins at Jing San Road station at the intersection of Mangling Avenue and Er Qiao Road, and runs to Longmen Avenue station at the intersection of Yiluo Road and Longmen Avenue. The 18.3km line will have 15 underground stations including an interchange with Line 1 at Jiefang Road and the future Line 3 at Citizen’s House station. The line passes through three administrative districts, and will connect with the Luoyang mainline stations and Luoyang Longmen high-speed station.

Construction of the network was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in August 2016, with Line 1 opening in March. The city plans to build 12 lines by 2035.
