The new line includes 32 stations, all-but-one of which are now operational.

Services are operated by a fleet of six-car type A trains. Each 140m-long train accommodates up to 2592 passengers.

Zhengzhou opened its first metro line in December 2013 and the completion of Line 5 takes the total length of the network to 136.1km with 93 stations.
