THE board of directors of Italian State Railways (FS) has appointed Mr Luigi Ferraris as CEO for 2021-23, at its first meeting since the new board was appointed following a shareholders meeting on May 26. Ferraris replaces Mr Gianfranco Battisti, who was appointed CEO in July 2018.
The new board for the 2021-23 period, chaired by Ms Nicoletta Giadrossi, includes Mr Pietro Bracco, Mr Stefano Cuzzilla, Ms Alessandra Bucci and Mr Riccardo Barbieri Hermitte. Ms Silvia Candiani, who was also appointed to the board on May 26, announced her resignation on June 3 after reassessing the level of commitment that sitting on the board would require.
FS acknowledged Candiani’s resignation, and a shareholders meeting will be called appoint a new board member.
