ALSTOM’s Chinese joint venture Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation (BST) has been awarded two contracts by China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group to carry out heavy maintenance for 74 high-speed trains comprising 592 coaches. The contracts are worth Yuan 382m ($US 59.7m).

BST, a 50:50 joint venture between Bombardier (now Alstom) and CRRC Sifang Rolling Stock, will provide maintenance services to China Railway Guangzhou Bureau which covers Level A3 maintenance, including the maintenance of key components for 34 CRH1A trains and 16 CRH1B trains as well as 16 CR400AF trains, in addition to performing Level A4 system breakdown maintenance for 24 CRH1A-A trains.

This agreement marks BST’s entry into the CR400AF heavy maintenance field and allows BST to develop and enhance its own capacity for future heavy maintenance projects on the fleet.
