The new service departs Kuala Lumpur at 08.30 and arrives at Padang Besar at 14.20 with 10 intermediate stops, taking 5h 50min for the 559km trip. The return train departs Padang Besar at 15.40 and arrives in Kuala - Lumpur at 21.26.

The business-class coach has a two-plus-one seating arrangement and is fitted with reclining, rotating seats, free Wi-Fi, USB and power sockets, and video on demand. Passengers are offered at-seat catering, amenity kits and onboard assistance. KTM is offering promotional fares ranging from Ringgits 50 ($US 11.94) to Ringgits 112 until November 30.

Video on demand is available in business class.

KTM plans to introduce business-class coaches on more trains in the future.

At the launch of the new service, Malaysia’s transport minister, Mr Anthony Loke, said that KTM is planning to increase ETS long-distance services to 50 trips per day. Loke said this increase will allow 5.7 million passengers to use the service per year, equivalent to 15,600 passengers per day.
