FrotaPoa submitted a bid of Reais 243.8m ($US 118.9m) for the trains, which will be financed through Brazil's federal Growth Acceleration Programme (PAC). This gives priority to bidders offering a high degree of local content, and both CAF and Alstom have assembly facilities in the state of São Paulo.
The first trains will be delivered within 18 months of contract signing, and the final sets within 26 months.
