The 41km line will connect Bogota with Mosquera, Madrid, Funza, Sector El Corzo and Facatativá in the department of Cundinamarca. The line will serve 17 stations, including interchanges with the Bogota Metro and the TransMilenio bus rapid transit network.

The line is due to open in 2024 and is forecast to carry 40.2 million passengers annually.

At the start of this year a Spanish consortium of Ardanuy Ingeniería and FGC was appointed to provide project consultancy and supervision services.
