This year BC also plans to electrify the Bobruysk – Zhlobin (65km) and Zhlobin – Gomel (86km) lines, together with the line from Molodechno to the Lithuanian border.

The projects are part of BC’s 2011-15 electrification programme, which will create a 387km north-south electrified route between Lithuania, Minsk, and the Ukrainian border. Together with the extension of electrification in Lithuania and Ukraine, this will create an electrified corridor between Klaipeda on the Baltic coast and the Black Sea at Odessa.
