The modular Dura Platform system was developed by Dura Composites, UK, using pultrusion composite manufacturing techniques, and installation was carried out by Hammond, Britain, which was principal contractor to network rail.

According to the manufacturer, Dura Platform can be fitted with a heating system to melt snow and ice in low temperatures, and can also be equipped with LED lighting to highlight the platform edge. The system has a design life of 50 years and is designed both as a replacement for concrete platforms, as at Needham Market, or for overlay projects.

Dura Composites offers the system in 40mm and 100mm thicknesses and lengths of up to 3.4m.
