Linate airport closed on July 28 for three months to allow its single runway to be resurfaced. Trenitalia expects around 100,000 air travellers to use rail instead of travelling to Milan Malpensa airport to catch a domestic flight.

In preparation for the closure, Trenitalia increased the number of Frecciarossa high-speed trains serving Rogoredo from 36 to 44 on June 9 and increased the total number to 50 on July 28. Trenitalia has also extended the opening hours of the ticket office and Freccia lounge at Rogoredo, increased the number of ticket machines, and introduced a mobile customer service desk at peak times.

The car park adjacent to Rogoredo has been renovated and can now accommodate new sustainable mobility services.

Rogoredo station is located southwest of Linate to the southeast of central Milan.
