The line adds three new stations to the Dart network, serving the University of Dallas and Las Colinas before terminating at Irving Convention Center.
The second 6.9km section of the Orange Line to North Lake College and Belt Line Road will open on December 3, while the remaining 8.4km stretch to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will be completed in 2014.
The $US 1.3bn Orange Line is a core project in Dart’s $US 3.4bn light rail expansion programme, which will extend the network to 145km by 2014.
