In an e-mail to city council members, Ottawa mayor Mr Jim Watson says the city "is prepared to expand the scope" of an environmental assessment to determine whether a link to the airport is feasible, although he stresses that the proposed link "cannot compromise" peak services on the existing O-Train line from Bayview to Greenboro. City deputy manager for planning and infrastructure Mrs Nancy Schepers has stated previously that a direct link to the airport would compromise the city's goal of operating eight-minute frequencies on the 8km line, which carries around 14,300 passengers per day.

Mr Mark Laroche, CEO of Ottawa International Airport Authority, says he is prepared to work with the city on developing the proposals.
