The initial phase of the agreement involves deployment of improved passenger Wi-Fi, portal, and multi-media services on ÖBB's 51-train Railjet fleet, and nine Railjets currently on order from Siemens, which serve Austria, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. Ultimately Nomad will roll out new onboard technology services on 900 ÖBB trains and 2000 buses.
Nomad will utilise its Obis platform to deliver services which will include journey and service information, and on-demand multi-media content, including live television channels from local broadcasters.
As part of the agreement, Nomad will establish an office in Vienna and plans to invest in local delivery and customer management resources.
