Plasser & Theurer received the award for its Track Infrastructure Multifunctional Maintenance Vehicle (MISS) modular vehicle platform, which supports construction, inspection and maintenance during track repair and upgrade.
Core tasks include the replacement of sleepers or closure rails following a rail break, or the replacement of point frogs and switch blades. The newly-developed machines are considerably more powerful and flexible the previous models which are gradually being replaced.
The first of 28 track working vehicles was handed over to DB Network in spring 2018.
