The four-car 15 kV 16.7 HZ ac class 78 EMU has a maximum speed of 250km/h and seats 236 passengers.

The train will undergo an extensive programme of tests at Velim as part of the process for obtaining an Authorisation to Place in Service (APS), which is required for commercial operation.

The trains will be compliant with the Technical Specification for Interoperability for Passengers with Reduced Mobility (TSI- PRM).
