The trains have entered service on route SFM1 from Rivarolo to Chieri, which has seen a 15% increase in ridership since it was launched at the end of 2012, and they supplement the fleet of 19 Minuetto sets supplied to GTT by Alstom in 2006.

The emus were assembled at Alstom's Savigliano plant and the €16m order has been entirely financed by the Piedmont regional government.

Each 67.5m-long train accommodates up to 400 passengers, 188 of them seated with one wheelchair bay.

The Savigliano plant is currently assembling a fleet of 70 Coradia Meridian emus for Trenitalia under a €450m contract signed in November 2012.
