The vehicles must be maintained according to a four-level programme. The winner of the contract must set up an IT link to provide PKP Intercity with information on train faults, and provide a technical maintenance workshop.

The vehicles must be maintained to meet the following criteria:
• technical readiness for operation of at least 95%
• reliability of at least 98% per quarter
• availability of at least 90% of the number of vehicles delivered at all times, and
• no more than four events resulting in the loss of essential operational features in a cycle of 350,000km.

PKP Intercity requires delivery of the first two trains within 18 months of contract award and the remaining 10 trains to be delivered within four years.
