The order for stainless steel-bodied coaches includes first and standard class sleeper cars, generator cars, and dining cars. Some of the sleeper vehicles will be equipped with lifting platforms to improve access for passengers with disabilities.
The contract represents SRT's largest single order for new passenger coaches and CNR's first order for mainline rail vehicles in Thailand.
SRT launched an international tender for the contract in March 2013.
