The lease runs for an initial period of 12 months and the train will enter passenger service with operator London Midland on the Coventry - Nuneaton line later this year.
The two driving cars will retain their original metro-style high-density layout, while the centre car will be equipped with various different seating configurations to gauge passenger reaction.
Vivarail will maintain and analyse the train throughout period of the lease.
