Under the Mumbai contract, awarded by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Alstom will provide CBTC as well as a telecommunications system for the three elevated lines. The signalling scope encompasses design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Urbalis 400 and includes supply and commissioning of onboard equipment for 63 trains. The telecommunications scope includes public address, passenger information, fibre optic transmission, CCTV, and access control systems.

The contract for Pune Metro, awarded by Maha Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL), will see Alstom provide Urbalis 400 for lines 1 and 2, to control 31 trains across the 32km-route, enabling operation at higher frequencies and speeds.

In December, Alstom was awarded the contract to supply CBTC for Mumbai Metro Line 3.
