Alstom installed ETCS onboard equipment on around 500 vehicle types between 2003 and 2008, as part of the first wave of a Swiss federal programme to comply with ETCS. The initial maintenance contract has now been extended for another 10 years, including an option for another five year extension.
The new contract includes logistics management for repair and calibration, as well as the overhaul of on-board ETCS components, measurement equipment, obsolescence management, technical support, training and on-site assistance.
