The operators comprise Skånetrafiken, Blekinge Region, Hallandstrafiken, and DSB SOV. The trains operate on Öresund services linking southern Sweden, including Malmö, and eastern Denmark, centred on Copenhagen.

The trains will have a dual system enabling them to operate on lines equipped with ETCS Level 2 as well as legacy signalling comprising ATC-2 in Sweden and ZUB 123 in Denmark. Alstom says the dual system is designed to minimise the amount of hardware on the trains by sharing some onboard components and the wheel sensors.

Alstom Sweden will be responsible for implementing the project together with Alstom’s ERTMS Centre of Excellence in Charleroi, Belgium, and Alstom’s team in Copenhagen. The work will completed by the end of 2023.
