CD awards contract to equip locomotives with ETCS

Under the framework, CD has already concluded four contracts worth a total of Koruna 1.4bn ($US 60m) to equip 72 class 362 locomotives and 30 class 162 locomotives. Most of these locomotives will be equipped by the end of 2022.

CD recently cancelled four tenders to equip its class 380 locomotives, class 680 Pendolino EMUs, CityElefant EMUs, RegioPanter/InterPanter EMUs, Railjet push-pull sets with ETCS as the prices offered by the bidders exceeded the operator’s budget.

CD is still tendering for a contract to equip its diesel locomotive and DMU fleets with ETCS.
