The certification, known as China’s Urban Rail Certification (CURC), was awarded following the successful operation of the system on Shanghai Metro Line 5, where it has accrued over six million train-km since its installation in late 2018.

The assessment was carried out by the China Association of Metros (Camet). CURC is organised by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Certification and Accreditation Administration (NCAA).

TSTCBTC 2.0 employs dual CBTC architecture, integrating interlocking and train control.
