Operators set to suspend services during second lockdown
BRITISH open-access operators, Grand Central and Hull Trains, have announced that they will suspend operation following the start of England’s second lockdown on November 5 as people are once again urged to avoid essential travel and to stay at home.

Arriva secures three-year CrossCountry contract
BRITAIN’s Department for Transport (DfT) has agreed a three-year contract with Arriva to continue to operate CrossCountry services, which encompasses long-distance and regional trains on routes from Aberdeen to Penzance, and Stansted Airport to Cardiff, serving more than 100 stations.

JUST days after the appointment of new members to German Rail’s (DB) management board, the company’s chief financial officer, Mr Alexander Doll, is set to leave the company on December 31. DB’s failure to sell its Arriva subsidiary and tensions between directors and government ministers are being blamed by local media for Doll’s departure.
