Auvergne rail network secures €280m investment

FRENCH prime minister, Mr Jean Castex, and president of the Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes region, Mr Laurent Wauquiez, signed an agreement on October 5 under which €280m will be spent in the next two years to improve the rail network in Auvergne.

FRENCH National Railways (SNCF) has ordered 19 six-car double-deck Regio 2N EMUs from Bombardier on behalf of the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region.
