Munich Airport eastern rail link moves forward

BAVARIA’s minister of transport, Mr Hans Reichhart, confirmed on March 21 that German infrastructure manager DB Network has submitted a planning application to the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) for a new eastern rail link to Munich Airport.

Alstom to supply Transdev with 1000th Coradia Lint DMU

TRANSDEV has awarded Alstom a contract worth more than €150m to supply 41 Coradia Lint regional DMUs for operation in the German state of Bavaria. The trains will be operated by Transdev subsidiary Bavarian Regional Railways (BRB) on services from Augsburg to Weilheim, Schongau, Ingolstadt, Eichstätt and Langenneufnach.

THE Government of Upper Bavaria has approved the first Avenio TZ LRVs for use on the Munich light rail network, with the LRVs coming into service on December 10.

MUNICH Airport gained a direct rail connection with eastern Bavaria on December 6 when Germany’s federal minister of transport Mr Andreas Scheuer, Bavarian transport minister Dr Hans Reichhard, and German Rail (DB) management board member for infrastrucuture Mr Ronald Pofalla inaugurated the Neufahrn Curve.

Škoda NIM Express receives TSI High Speed certification

ŠKODA Transportation confirmed on November 2 that German notified body Eisenbahn Cert has granted TSI High Speed certification for the type 109E3 (class 102) electric locomotives and double-deck coaches ordered by DB Regio for Nuremberg - Inglostadt - Munich NIM Express high-speed regional services.
