BYBANEN, the public company responsible for overseeing the 20km light rail line in Bergen, signed an eight-year contract with Keolis Norge on June 29 for the operation of the system and maintenance of its LRV fleet.

THE Norwegian city of Bergen opened a further extension of its north-south light rail line on August 15 when the city’s mayor Mrs Marte Mjøs Persen and Hordaland county mayor Mrs Anne Gine Hestetun cut the ribbon to inaugurate the 4.8km southern section between Lagunen and Birkelandsskiftet.
THE first of eight 42.1m-long Variobahn low-floor LRVs being supplied by Stadler Pankow for the light rail network in Bergen arrived at the Norwegian city's port on October 19.
