Birmingham Eastside light rail extension set for approval
WEST Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is this week expected to approve the Birmingham Eastside extension of the West Midlands Metro, which will provide a branch from the existing light rail line at Bull Street to High Street Deritend in Digbeth, via the proposed High-Speed 2 (HS2) Curzon Street Station.

Five compete for £2.75bn HS2 fleet order
Tendering is underway for a contract to supply and maintain 54 360km/h trains for operation on Phase 1 of Britain’s HS2 high-speed line linking London and Birmingham as well as conventional lines to the north.
