Talks continue for new Miami-Dade Brightline commuter service
FLORIDA’s Miami-Dade County board of county commissioners has agreed to continue talks with Brightline over a new commuter rail service along the Brightline/Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) corridor.

Work on Brightline West high-speed line expected in 2020
PRIVATE railway Brightline has released a construction schedule for its Las Vegas - southern California high-speed line, which will be called Brightline West. After the completion of a bond sale to help pay for the initial phase, construction is expected to begin later this year and will be completed in 2024.

XpressWest receives approval for future bond sales
XPRESSWEST, a subsidiary of American private operator Brightline, has received approval from the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (CIEDB) to be reimbursed through a future bond sale for the cost of its planned 273.6km high-speed line from California to Las Vegas.

Brightline drops Virgin and returns to old name
FLORIDA-based private operator Brightline, which has operated as Virgin Trains USA since 2019, has announced that it will revert to its former name and end its partnership with Virgin Enterprises, following a termination notice delivered on July 29.

Brightline receives approval for Port Miami station
THE Miami-Dade County Commission has approved plans for Brightline, soon to be Virgin Trains USA, to build a station at PortMiami by the end of 2020. The station will eventually provide a direct connection between the port’s cruise terminals and Brightline’s services to Orlando International Airport.
