CRRC Corporation has released images of the first Kleinstlok HH hybrid shunting locomotive for German Rail (DB), which will be on display at InnoTrans in Berlin next month.

SHANGHAI Shentong Metro Group announced on July 18 that it has taken delivery of the city’s 5000th metro car.

GERMAN Rail (DB) has signed a framework agreement with CRRC Zhuzhou for 20 “AZLok” hybrid shunting locomotives to be used by infrastructure manager DB Netz, possibly as maintenance and emergency vehicles, the first time the Chinese company has exported to Germany. An initial batch of four locomotives has been ordered under the agreement signed in Berlin on June 20.

PRASARANA Malaysia has awarded a Ringgits 1.56bn ($US 360m) contract to supply 42 driverless trains for Kuala Lumpur metro Line LRT3 to a consortium of CRRC Zhuzhou, Siemens China, and Malaysian partner Tegap Dinamik.

TRIAL operation began on the first light rail line in Wuhan on July 28, with the launch of 28 days of free travel on the 16.8km Line T1, which serves southwestern districts of the city.

THE first metro train being built by CRRC Zhuzhou for Lahore’s Orange Line in Pakistan arrived on May 15, with 26 more to be delivered by the end of the year.
