SERVICES commenced on a new 6.1km, six-station metro line in Gurgaon, India, on November 14, which links Gurgaon Cyber City, which is located 30km south of central Delhi, with Delhi metro Line 2 at Sikandepur.
INFRASTRUCTURE Leasing and Financial Services Rail (IF&LS), the Indian company which holds the PPP concession to build the metro in Gurgaon south of Delhi, has awarded Siemens a turnkey contract worth around Rs 5.65bn ($US 92m) to supply signalling, electrification, and rolling stock for the second phase of the network.
Thales has been selected to implement a fare collection system on Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon, the city's new metro.
