THE first Alstom Citadis 305 LRV for Kaohsiung left Alstom’s plant in La Rochelle, France, on July 25 on the initial leg of its journey to Taiwan.
ALSTOM confirmed on January 23 that it has been awarded a contract by China Steel Corporation to supply 15 Citadis X05 low-floor LRVs for Stage 2 of the Kaohsiung light rail Circular Line.
A one-week programme of dynamic testing began on July 21 on the first light rail line in Taiwan's second city Kaohsiung.
The construction of a circular light rail line in Kaohsiung will bring more residents and businesses in Taiwan's second city within easy reach of the rail network, as James Chuang explains.
THE first two CAF Urbos catenary-free low-floor LRVs for the light rail circle line under construction in Taiwan's second-largest city Kaohsiung was unloaded at the port of Taichung on September 11 following a five-week sea voyage from Barcelona.
