KHARKIV Metro intends to launch a tender soon for the purchase of a fleet of metro trains and associated spare parts and maintenance equipment with an estimated value of €45m.

UKRAINE’s cabinet has given Kharkiv Metro approval to sign loan agreements with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction (EBRD) which will fully-finance a project to expand the metro network in the country’s second-largest city.

UKRAINE’s second-largest city Kharkiv added a 30th station to its metro network on August 25 with the launch of passenger services on the northern extension of Line 3 from Oleksiivska to Peremoha.
