LOWER Saxony Transport Authority (LNVG) published a contract notice in the Official Journal of the European Union on August 14 for a tender for a new fleet of double-deck EMUs, which will be used on regional services in the German states of Lower Saxony and Bremen.
LOWER Saxony Transport Authority (LNVG) signed a contract with Alstom and gas supplier Linde Group in Wolfsburg on November 9 for a fleet of 14 Coradia iLint hydrogen fuel multiple units, which will replace diesel trains on non-electrified routes in northwest Germany from 2021 onwards.
THE minister of transport for the German state of Lower Saxony, Mr Olaf Lies, marked the start of construction of stations on the Neuenhaus- Bad Bentheim line on September 5 by handing over the contract for future regional passenger operations to Mr Joachin Berend, managing director of Bentheimer Eisenbahn (BE).

DB Regio will take over operation of the Hamburg - Stade - Cuxhaven regional route from Metronom in December 2018 following a tender organised by Lower Saxony transport authority LNVG. DB won the contract by offering a lower price than Metronom.
