LUXEMBOURG National Railways (CFL) has issued a call for tender for the supply of a fleet of 25kV ac EMUs for operation within Luxembourg and on cross-border service to France and Belgium.

THE first of 21 Urbos low-floor LRVs for the initial phase of the Luxembourg light rail network arrived at the city’s Kirchberg depot on February 8 after completing its 1800km road journey from CAF’s plant in Zaragoza, Spain.

A life-size mock-up of the fleet of LRVs being built by CAF for LuxTram was put on show on December 7 in Luxembourg. The mock-up will remain on view until January 31.
