SWITZERLAND’s Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB) signed a contract with Stadler on January 6 for the delivery of seven metre-gauge locomotives comprising two electric shunting locomotives, a diesel-electric shunting locomotive and four diesel-electric locomotives for use in infrastructure works.
PROPOSALS to construct a metre-gauge line linking Switzerland's Zentralbahn (ZB) and the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB) via a tunnel beneath the Grimsel Pass were unveiled in Berne on February 4.
