THE Italian Transport Authority (ART), headed by Mr Andrea Camanzi, issued infrastructure manager Italian Railway Network (RFI) with a €620,000 fine on August 2 for discriminatory behaviour in the sanctioning of operation at speeds exceeding 300km/h on the country’s high-speed network.
ITALIAN open-access high-speed operator Italo-NTV has awarded Alstom a €330m contract for five additional Pendolino Evo trains, exercising an option from the original contract signed in October 2015. The contract also includes 30-years maintenance and will bring Italo-NTV’s total Pendolino Evo fleet to 22 trains.
NEW York-based investment fund Global Infrastructure Partners III (GIP) has launched a bid to acquire Italian open-access high-speed operator Italo-NTV, just weeks before its planned initial public offering (IPO) on the Milan stock exchange.
ITALY’s open-access high-speed operator Italo-NTV achieved a 24.8% jump in operating revenue in 2017 to €454.9m compared with €364.4m in 2016 partly due to a 15.3% in traffic from 11.1 million passengers in 2016 to 12.8 million last year.
